When Hendrix (Ben Turland) and Mackenzie (Georgie Stone) get some bad news about their health, their worlds are turned upside down in Neighbours.
Fashion Week turns out to be a huge fiasco, thanks in large part to Harlow (Jemma Donovan), and Mackenzie is left feeling absolutely lost.
Hendrix is heartbroken for her and tries everything he can to make her happy again. He is suddenly stricken by a strong coughing attack while carrying out Operation Cheer Up. He is alarmed by the severity and unexpectedness of it, and he rightly resolves to visit his doctor.
He isn’t disturbed in the least. Coughing fits could be caused by a variety of factors, but as his appointment near, his brave countenance fades. Now he’s imagining the worst-case possibilities – is he dealing with anything serious?
For the first time, Hendrix’s overthinking isn’t just that — he’s dead on when the doctor delivers his terrible diagnosis.
Despite mentally bracing himself for terrible news, he finds it difficult to digest what he’s been told and feels isolated by the diagnosis at first.
He subsequently realises that he needs to tell Karl (Alan Fletcher) and Susan (Jackie Woodburne) so that they can support him. As he does so, he discovers them in the midst of a massive squabble regarding Karl’s ludicrous financial behaviour.
The news of Hendrix, on the other hand, stuns them into stillness. Hendrix always comes first, no matter how much they dislike each other. They took a break from their row to tend to him. But how terrible is it going to get?
Scenes will begin airing on Channel 5 on Monday, May 2nd.
