Sarah Roberts may have departed Home and Away, but she is never far from the company of her former co-stars.
On Sunday, the actress paid tribute to her late brother, Karl De Abrew, who died at the age of 34 following a 15-year struggle with brain cancer.
On the two-year anniversary of his death, Sarah posted a beach selfie to commemorate his life.
“2 years today without u, ?❤️??” she wrote the wonderful shot.
Her Home and Away co-stars crowded around her beloved buddy in the comment section of her article to encourage her through the difficult day.
“Sending love gorgeous woman ❤️❤️,” Sophie Dillman wrote, and “Sending love Sarah❤️” Ethan Browne generously contributed.
Patrick O’Connor was likewise certain to show up for Sarah, and all he did was put two red hearts, “❤️❤️.”
When Georgie Parker wrote, “Sending love lovely Sar?,” and Ada Nicodemou added, “Thinking of you today beautiful ?,” there was no shortage of affection.
Finally, Laura Vazquez, the popular makeup artist from Home and Away, joined Sarah in her tearful statement.
“He’s always there for you… My dear buddy, I’m thinking of you and giving you a big hug. I adore you.”
Of course, her former co-stars weren’t the only celebrities who expressed their gratitude.
Larry Emdur, a well-known television personality, also sent a kind remark. “Sending you much love,” he wrote alongside four broken heart emojis.
In 2019, Sarah announced her brother’s death, just months after he had attended her wedding to James Stewart.
She paid an emotional homage to his life and all of the experiences they spent together at the time.
“He escorted me down the aisle three months ago today, and now he is walking with the angels,” Sarah wrote.
“I’m left with a hole in my heart and 34 years of wonderful memories… growing up together as children and then into adults.”
“Big Squirt, you fought THE BRAVEST struggle until the very end, and I pledge to always live up to your expectations; to remember what you taught me, “it’s all about the trip, not the goal,” and “have no regrets.” I adore you, I respect you, and I salute you. We know you’re dancing in the sky, constantly keeping an eye on us, so you may relax now. Medium Squirt x”
