On Monday, Tahnee Sims, Johnny Ruffo’s longtime girlfriend, shared a heartfelt remembrance of him to mark six years since his initial brain cancer diagnosis.
Tahnee, 29, shared a touching video tribute to her late husband on Instagram, highlighting some of the highs and lows they have shared together.
The Home and Away actor, 35, receives stitches for a forehead wound in the opening scene of the film, which then switches to some sweet images of the couple together.
Tahnee provided some priceless captioning for the video.
“Six years have passed since diagnosis. She wrote, “What a fighter!!” and included a heart emoji.
Many of Johnny’s famous friends didn’t take long to marvel over the sweet homage.
While The Bachelor actress Anna Robards shared some love heart emojis, radio personality Michael “Wippa” Wipfli of Nova responded, “Couldn’t be prouder my man.”
Johnny routinely updates his 261,000 Instagram followers on the progress of his cancer treatment.
He began a second round of chemotherapy earlier this year, posting a picture of himself receiving the treatment in a hospital with Tahnee by his side.
The performer put on a brave face, grinning and nodding in approval as he sat in a chair.
He jokingly posted, “Back in my favourite chair,” along with the hashtags #ihatethischair and #f**kcancer.
After visiting the hospital with excruciating migraines, Johnny was initially identified as having brain cancer in 2017.
He had a 7 cm brain tumour surgically removed from his frontal lobe in August of that year, followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The former X Factor contestant continued by praising his partner Tahnee, calling her his “guardian angel,” and declaring that he doesn’t know what he would do without her.
After receiving his initial diagnosis in 2017, Johnny entered remission for several months before disclosing that the sickness has returned in November 2021.
