The intense rivalry between Roo Stewart and Marilyn Chambers has been settled by Home and Away.
After frequent arguments, the simmering issue finally reached a breaking point on Thursday’s Australian show when Marilyn defied Roo.
Roo went too far by encouraging Marilyn to lie to Alf about what had happened after deciding to kick her out of the Stewart home.
After deceiving Alf into believing Marilyn was in charge of her care, Roo felt embarrassed and urged her friend to pretend that she had left the house on her own volition.
Marilyn said, “You are supposed to be my best friend, but what you’re asking me to do is impossible,” after growing tired of Roo holding her responsible for everything.
“You made me move out, and I’m not going to lie to your dad about it. I never wanted to do that. “Roo, you made this mess; why don’t you clean it up?”
Due to Marilyn’s business involvement with the unscrupulous cosmetics company Stunning Organics, Roo has been criticising her for weeks.
Marilyn participated in the dubious pyramid scam earlier this year, disobeying caution from her pals.
Later, she used social media to attack the corporation, which enraged them. As a result, the CEO sent a bomb to Summer Bay, severely wounding Roo.
Irene Roberts intervened as well, telling Roo what was really going on between her and the pals after learning of their most recent argument.
“Yes, you’re still recovering, Roo, but you will get there because you are strong,” Irene angrily said.
“For heaven’s sake, you’re here lying like a flipping adolescent when Leah and Justin almost died. For heaven’s sake, mature up; you are aware that the world faces more pressing issues.”
Roo eventually felt the impact of the tough discussion, realising that it was time to apologise to Marilyn and make apologies for blaming her. Can the friends move on from the Stunning Organics story at last?
