James Stewart gushed about Mandy McElhinney as she adapted to life on the Australian serial opera Home and Away.
The 52-year-old actress joined the Channel 5 show’s cast as Margot Dafoe, the legendary Vita Nova cult’s leader who pretended to be Andrew Lawrence’s (Joshua Hewson) mother.
Earlier this week, detective Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright), who had been removed from the case, turned rogue and stole private information pertaining to Andrew.
Cash arrived at Justin’s house prepared for a rescue mission after advising Justin they should back off and let the task force do their job of finding Andrew.
The cult’s members and leader Margot, who had no intention of letting Andrew leave, surrounded Cash as they entered the facility in the episode that aired on Thursday (July 27).
Cash and Justin returned to the Bay beaten and dejected despite letting both men leave without any broken bones.
James, 47, was quick to compliment Mandy when she made her acting debut as the villain and posted a picture of the two of them on the set with Joshua Hewson, who plays Andrew.
Since 2016, James has played Justin Morgan. He wrote: “So very very pleased that Mandy McElhinney has come to the bay!
She’s one of Australia’s best actors, and I’ve always admired her work! Watching her do her thing has us all buzzing! To-do list with a checkmark.
Joshua, 19, was praised by James after making his acting debut as Andrew. James is not shy about showing his co-stars support.
In a photo with Matt Evans, who plays Theo Poulous, their co-star, James urged fans to “keep an eye out” as he acknowledged Josh’s extraordinary skill.
“Are you having a laugh?! ” he wrote. Does he have a laugh? Josh Hewson is a natural man; here he is! I’m thrilled that he’s joined our show. He’s cool to hang out with, witty, bright, and clearly on the rise.
“Keep an eye out for this guy!” the Australian actor concluded his message.
