In scenes playing on UK televisions next week, Felicity Newman from Home and Away will be firmly blamed for the chemical assault on Tane Parata, who is currently in a serious state in hospital.
When the soap returns to Channel 5 next week after a six-week holiday hiatus, fans will see the repercussions of Tane (Ethan Browne) getting sprayed with a hazardous chemical after inadvertently drinking a poisoned sports drink. It then began to seep into the air vents, where it was discharged into the Salt mental health fundraiser.
When Tane is found in a critical condition in the gym, Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) notices that his attacker has left a rose on Tane’s chest, and remembering that Tane’s mystery stalker has been sending him roses in recent weeks, Cash becomes concerned about his sister Felicity (Jacqui Purvis), who has been the prime suspect for Tane’s stalker.
Cash stands by as Tane is resuscitated at the hospital, while other Summer Bay residents are also battling after getting caught up in the incident. When he considers all his sister has revealed to him recently, he wonders if Felicity could have done such a terrible thing.
Despite the fact that it is the middle of the night, Cash seizes the chance to see Felicity in her trailer. When Felicity is awakened, she wonders why Cash is there and taunts him for wearing scrubs. Cash’s mind is eased significantly by the fact that she appears to have no knowledge of what has happened to Tane.
Felicity arrives at the Surf Club the next morning to see the crime scene and wants to know what’s going on, only to learn that her brother accuses her of involvement.
Mackenzie Booth (Emily Weir) indicates that the guest list for the event puts Felicity in the top suspect position, but Cash doesn’t reveal anything.
Later in the week, Felicity inquires about Tane with Cash and his girlfriend Jasmine Delaney (Sam Frost), which sets up warning bells for Cash, who wonders why she would be interested. Cash makes her vow not to go near the hospital, despite her explanation that she only feels awful for Tane.
Later, Jasmine and Felicity witness Federal Police in action at the Surf Club, and Cash says that the chemical assault is being examined to determine whether it should be considered as a terror plot. The tragedy has shaken the people of Summer Bay, and Felicity feels compelled to go.
Felicity and Jasmine return to Felicity’s caravan with takeout, and Felicity informs Jasmine that she was with a friend at the time of the incident.
However, when Jasmine goes to use Felicity’s garbage, she discovers a receipt for chemicals in her truck, which raises her suspicions about Felicity’s involvement in the attack.
When Jasmine gives Cash the receipt, his worst suspicions are realised, as Jasmine discovers that Cash suspects Felicity of being behind the attack.
Cash and Jasmine track down Felicity at Salt, where Cash hands her the receipt that Jasmine discovered. Felicity denies knowing about it, but Cash and Jasmine are both sceptical, given that it was discovered in her van.
Will anybody believe Felicity when she insists she is innocent?
