Sophie Dillman expressed her joy after spotting a photo of Heath Ledger on the set of Home and Away.
In the wardrobe section, the actress, who has played Ziggy ‘Zig’ Astoni on the soap since 2017, seemed to have came across a polaroid of the late star.
On Friday, the 28-year-old uploaded a snapshot of a young Heath to her Instagram Stories.
The Australian actress wore blue shorts and a white and black long-sleeved shirt in the photo.
‘I can’t believe we collaborated…’ she wrote. ‘We’re from different decades, but we’re basically the same person.’
Heath only appeared on the long-running series for one year in 1997, as local bad boy Scott Irwin.
He earned his reputation in Hollywood two years later with a prominent role in the romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You, before leaping to the A-list with critically acclaimed roles in Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight, for which he received a posthumous Academy Award.
Heath was sadly found dead on January 22, 2008, in a New York City residence after inadvertently overdosing after months of physical and mental stress.
He was reportedly a drug user on and off for years, but things came to a climax when he was juggling too many films on too little sleep, including his final performance in The Dark Knight.
To shut his mind off, he began to rely on a cocktail of medicines.
‘I couldn’t take my mind off it.’ In an interview with the New York Times in November, only two months before his death at the age of 28, he said, “My body was fatigued, but my mind was still working.”
He died as a result of a fatal mix of six medicines in his system, including two types of narcotics, two types of anti-anxiety medication, and two types of sleep medication.
