Mia (Anna Samson) and Chloe (Sam Barrett) have been dealing with the aftermath of Ari’s (Rob Kipa-Williams) death in different ways. Chloe has been clinging to Bella (Courtney Miller), spending as much time as she can at the Farm House and resorting to emotional blackmail whenever Bella expresses a desire for alone time or time with her partner.
Meanwhile, Tane (Ethan Browne) has grown increasingly concerned for Mia after she stated that she is moving on with her life. However, after restless nights and nightmares, she begins sleepwalking one evening, surprising Tane when he discovers her missing and alarming him when he sees her wandering through the Bay in her pyjamas.
Bella eventually persuades Chloe to return home and face her family, and she reunites with Mia as a result. Chloe admits she’s having trouble dealing with Ari’s death, and Mia suggests she try out some shifts at the Diner to help her get back to normal.
Chloe is hesitant, but she agrees to do it for the sake of her mother. Meanwhile, Mia defends her daughter to Bella and Nikau, explaining that she is having difficulty and that they should be patient with her. However, the couple is losing patience and is beginning to wonder if they will ever be able to live their own lives again.
Mia goes to the gym as Chloe goes to the Diner, and she tries to persuade Tane that she is merely going on with her life. Tane, on the other hand, isn’t confident that’s the end of it, and he’s correct as the day gives way to night and Mia resumes her sleepwalking. This time, however, she deviates from the path and walks into oncoming traffic… Will Tane notice she’s gone and track her down in time, or are the Paratas in for yet another heartbreak?
