Felicity Newman from Home and Away appears to be facing her attacker in a restorative justice plot.
In Australia’s triple bill on Thursday night (August 17), Felicity received an unexpected call that stated Jeremy had requested a meeting.
Felicity found the timing of the call difficult because her husband Tane needed to support his family in New Zealand at the time.
Tane was shocked to learn that Gemma Parata, his deceased brother Mikaere’s widow, had been involved in an automobile accident in New Zealand.
Nikau, Gemma’s son, had already made arrangements to go from New York to be at her side as he knew she would be in the hospital for a while.
Because he didn’t want to leave Felicity so soon after her sexual assault, Tane was hesitant to travel to New Zealand on his own.
Tane was pushed by Felicity to leave, and when she later got the call about Jeremy, she decided not to inform Tane because she knew he would want to stay.
Felicity visited Eden Fowler, her best friend, to explain the situation after Tane had departed for the airport.
Felicity responded, “I’m not,” when Eden inquired whether she was alright. My phone rang yesterday. My assailant wants to talk to me.
This plot development was initially stated by Felicity’s actor, Jacqui Purvis, in a recent exclusive interview with Digital Spy.
We ultimately investigate restorative justice, Jacqui said. The plot is moving in that direction when Felicity really converses with the offender.
In a restorative justice programme, persons who have been hurt by crimes are brought together with those who were accountable, allowing them the chance to talk about the consequences and hold perpetrators accountable.
In October, Channel 5 will air these moments for Home and Away viewers in the UK.
