Matt Shirvington, star of Sunrise, has joined the cast of Home and Away, a popular Australian soap opera.
According to 7NEWS.co.au, the former Olympian and current co-host of the Australian breakfast show “secretly” taped footage for the Summer Bay-focused programme that would premiere “later next year” (2024).
Although Shirvington’s role is unknown, past Sunrise stars—like weather anchor Sam Mac—have shown up on the programme in their own personas; it’s plausible that the former athlete would do the same.
According to reports, Shirvington filmed sequences in Palm Beach in Sydney.
“Being in Summer Bay with Alf Stewart felt a little surreal as a child who grew up watching Home and Away!” According to Shirvington, 7NEWS.com.au.
“What a great time,” he continued. “Every member of the cast and crew was incredibly friendly and gave this beginner a lot of acting coaching and pointers.
“I fear that this will be something my children will never allow me to get over.”
The 2023 season finale of Home and Away, which will air this week in Australia, has begun.
Mackenzie Booth’s failing health brought Xander Delaney into conflict with Summer Bay’s new physician Levi Fowler, and Adam Rowland has alluded to a potential demise in the not-so-peaceful Australian suburb’s last 2023 excursion.
Cash and Eden are also about to have another health crisis, and as a result, after calling Remi in despair, the latter crashes his automobile.
The show is presently on its Christmas break on Channel 5; the episodes will arrive in the UK in 2024.
