They met in 2017.
After five years of marriage, the former Home and Away co-stars Sarah Roberts and James Stewart filed for divorce in March 2024.
The pair met on the set of Australian soap, Home and Away in 2017 and quickly became the golden couple as they fell in love. In 2019, they had a fairytale wedding in Luttrellstown Castle, just outside of Dublin, Ireland surrounded by their friends and family
But sadly, Sarah confirmed the pair had grown apart during an interview in April.
“I just want to say that I am divorced,” she told Stellar Magazine.
“Sometimes people grow apart and that’s okay… I got to a point where I realised I couldn’t grow in the way I wanted to within this particular relationship.”
On the Instagram announcement shared by the official account for Stellar, friends of Sarah shared their love.
“Sending you lots of love, dear Sar. Xxx,” Penny McNamee wrote
Sam Frost commented: “Yes 👏🏻 Girl 👏🏻 I’m very proud of you!!! It’s so beautiful to see you sparkle again ✨ you deserve nothing but the best xxxxxx”
“Such a shame as I loved you guys as a couple, but as long as you are both happy that’s the important thing,” a fan wrote.
“No surprise there, haven’t seen them together in a while. Neither of them wearing their rings either,” another commented.
Unfortunately, fans weren’t completely surprised by the divorce announcement after rumours began to circulate in October 2022 after James was absent from the premiere of Sarah’s film, Wog Boys Forever.
The final time James appeared on Sarah’s Instagram was in February 2023, meanwhile James’ last post about Sarah was in July 2022.
A few months after the announcement, Sarah shared a snippet into her life post-divorce and thanked her friends who “brought [her] back to life.”
“These two. Brought me back to life. Literally,” she began on Instagram.
“Put a roof over my head, filled me with wine, cookies, memories, (the best) carbonara (I’ve ever had!), giggles, deep conversations, self-confidence, a new found zest for life. A safe haven on this twisty-turny journey.”
