On August 22, 2012, Home and Away actress Ada Nicodemou gave birth to her only child, a son named Johnas Xipolitas. She parted with Chrys Xipolitas, her ex-partner, back in 2016, and they have a son named Johnas together.
Since then, she has discovered a new love with Adam Rigby, her current partner. It’s almost been eight years since the two started dating.
Ada has a strong bond with her kid, parents, brother, and nieces, and she has spent many wonderful times with them over the years. Ada is all about family!
Ada has also had a very busy career, so we can only image how challenging it must be to balance acting full-time with raising an 11-year-old son.
The 46-year-old previously discussed how she balances celebrity and family life with anecdotes from her colourful life.
“Johnas just told me that he wasn’t happy the other day when some kids at school looked me up on Wikipedia,” she remarked.
“I told him that might keep happening, as unfortunately, it is really just part of this world.”
Ada did, however, stray and mention that Johnas might like to live in that world eventually.
He simply began penning various works. Just before he confided in me that he was a screenwriter! She said, “I was impressed by how creative it is.”
“He really wants to film a movie, but he still wants to be an international soccer player. He even said he would require $2000 to complete the task.”
Ada enjoys opening up to her mother Jenny Nicodemou, brother Costa Nicodemou, wife Elena Nicodemou, and their daughters Micaela and Sofia about her life.
Ada talked to Marie Claire in 2020 about how her mother shaped the way she raised her children.
She told the publication, “My mum Jenny was always the head of our household.” “She worked seven days a week but took me and my brother everywhere.”
Before I left for school, I worked as a delicatessen employee growing up, counting back coin for patrons. My mother gave me a strong work ethic.”
“She has given me strength, resiliency, and the ability to stand up for myself.”
As Ada disclosed in the previously stated exclusive with New Idea, Ada imposes extremely comparable principles on Johnas.
She said to us, “I told him he needs to work.” “He began washing vehicles a while ago. He’s putting forth a lot of effort, and I like that he’s being imaginative.”
When Ada and Adam went to the TV Week Logie Awards together in 2018, their romance had its public debut. Ada previously discussed their initial encounter and how their relationship has developed with our sister publication TV Week.
Ada remarked, “We met at a work function and he had no idea who I was.” Still, it’s kind of cool, isn’t it? It’s good that he was unaware of the show.
Johnas rapidly developed an affection for his stepfather, Adam, who fit in wonderfully with her happy little family.
Ada told TV Week, “Adam and Johnas adore each other; he’s such a great stepdad and has really stepped up.”
“For a man to come into my world and love a child as if he were his own – and love me like I’ve never been loved before – is incredibly special.”
Ada is frank about her love for her brother Costa and his two beautiful girls, Micaela, three months old, and Sofia, three years old, in addition to her strong relationship with her own children.
Ada posted a touching statement on Instagram when Micaela was born in November 2023, declaring that she is “in love again.”
“I’ve just become an aunt for the second time; our beautiful little Micaela ❤️ has me in complete awe; I can’t take my eyes off her. She is the cutest little child.” We are fortunate 💕💕,” she wrote.
Ada was thrilled to have another young one to share her affection with after growing close to her niece Sofia over the previous few years. Ada is very fond of her brother Costa and their father in addition to the two girls.
Ada posted a lovely birthday greeting on Instagram in March 2023 in honour of Costa. “Happy birthday to my beautiful brother, you’re an incredible father and loving husband and our family rock ❤️,” she wrote in a note.
Ada is like family to us! For many Australian families and viewers of soap operas, she also feels like a member of the family after watching her as Leah on Home & Away for more than 20 years.
