Fans will be surprised to learn who James Stewart would thank in his prepared acceptance speech if he wins a Logie this year.
The 47-year-old Home and Away actor admitted on Thursday that he doesn’t believe he can defeat Sam Neill and Ray Meagher, who are both contenders in his category.
He did, however, say that he would like to thank the Home and Away cameramen if he were to win the award for Most Popular Actor, according to The Courier Mail.
I really want to thank our staff since they put in 14 hours a day of incredibly hard work, the actor remarked.
They observe us in both our best and worst moments. And, you know, if a cameraman who has been working in this field for 30 years approaches you and says, “That was good,” you know it was because he has seen a tonne of them.
‘I’d like to thank them, but I’ll only get about four seconds before Sam Pang [host] makes a joke at my expense,’ he continued.
It’s almost time for the biggest night in Australian television.
The TV Week Logie Awards will be presented in Sydney on July 30 for the first time since 1986.
Even though voting for the prized tournament is still open, bookmakers are confident they know who will win a trophy.
Hamish Blake, a comedian and Lego Masters host, is expected to win the Gold Logie for most favoured Australian television personality, according to Bet Right.
His odds are far higher than those of Sonia Kruger of Channel Seven, who is the second-most likely winner according to the company’s bookies.
As of Thursday night, Hamish’s odds on the website were $1.45, while the Big Brother presenter was listed at $7.50.
