Tane and Felicity confide in one another and discuss their divorce’s agony in an honest and open manner. He tells her straight out that there is nothing to figure out when she offers that maybe in time they will sort things out. Flick, humiliated, flees into the darkness, with Tane pursuing him closely.
Tane leads with kindness when he finally catches up to Felicity, telling her to quit abusing herself. He’s come to the realisation that it’s not her fault they have different goals. Regardless of how much love is still present, they are now travelling down distinct roads.
Tane is happy to have made amends with Felicity when he meets with Harper for a debriefing the following day. However, Tane misinterprets Harper’s concern for him as they converse during their training session and leans in to plant a kiss.

At Remi’s hospital bedside, where she begs him in private to wake up, Bree is at her lowest point. Bree refuses to leave her partner’s side even after Kirby shows in and offers to sit with the patient if she needs a break. As Kirby takes up his stay to keep her company, Bree expresses her concern that there is still a great deal of potential for complications following surgery.
Kirby sings a moving Cook Islander spiritual song to Remi with Bree’s approval, and the two keep an eye on him and hope he wakes up. Later, Kirby is the one awakened by Remi’s life support alert. Bree rejoices when she realises that Remi is starting to recover consciousness while she panics.
Later, when Bee finds out that Remi is being transferred out of intensive care, she is appalled and wants to know who made the downgrading. Especially in light of their recent arguments, she finds the response offensive: Dr. Levi Fowler gave the order.
In another scene, Justin shows up to nudge Marilyn aside while Alf and Marilyn wrap up the evening with a cup of coffee at the Diner. He needs her to hide his own letter in with Leah’s the next time she writes to her, as a favour. Marilyn is obviously uncomfortable, but Justin argues his point and acknowledges his desperation.
Theo questions Justin, pointing him that it is against the doctor’s orders for him and Leah to communicate, as he brings him up to date on this. As it happens, Marilyn agrees with Theo that she should follow the guidelines established by Leah’s care team, which means she won’t assist in delivering his letter. Justin is damaged. Is Leah truly better off doing this?
