Fans of Home and Away were surprised to see a’spoiler’ on Wikipedia indicating that a fan favourite character may be leaving Summer Bay this year.
In a Facebook page for the long-running drama, a fan revealed the news, uploading an image from Wikipedia claiming that Ada Nicodemou, as Leah Patterson, will leave the programme in 2021.
“I assume Leah will quit the show or something will happen to her because it states this year on here that she’s done on Home and Away,” they said with a screenshot from Wikipedia.
Each of the current characters on the programme is listed on the website, along with their actor and duration, with Ada’s reading ‘2000-2021.’
A lot of admirers responded to the post in the comments section, with the majority expressing their displeasure with it.
“I hope not,” one individual said, “but anything may happen.” “Wait till you see what happened to Tori Morgan.”
“The Bay will be much missed,” said another, while another added, “Justin has had so much terrible luck, he needs to be happy.”
“I hate to announce it, but I heard Leah got a new job on Neighbours,” said a fourth.
Other people refuted the rumour by pointing out that Ada’s contract with the programme was only recently extended.
In June, the actress confirmed the storey to New Idea, stating that she will not be leaving anytime soon.
“I adore television, and I adore consistency. And it’s given me a wonderful existence. When questioned about working on another series, she responded, “I’ve been here, in this country, and at home as much as I can with Johnas.”
“I simply believe it’d be too difficult for me to keep hustling for new parts while still being unemployed.” And I’m not a big fan of acting; I prefer working.”
Since the Facebook post was shared over the weekend, the Wikipedia entry for Ada’s character has been updated to reflect that she is still alive.
The accusations arise after Channel Seven issued a statement in response to fellow Home and Away actress Sam Frost’s video in which she disclosed she is Covid-19 unvaccinated.
“Seven highly urges all of our employees to be vaccinated, and all Seven productions fully follow the public health Covid-19 safe standards,” a spokesman for the company told the Daily Mail.
“In addition to other precautionary precautions, the whole cast and crew of Home and Away undergoes Covid-19 testing three times a week.”
Sam is still working on the popular soap, according to the network, and “follows the safety measures in place.”
